Companies all over the state from BP to stream energy houston are concerned about pollution but there are a few ways it’s easier than ever to help reduce your carbon footprint. We’ve got some old but great suggestions for you to minimize your impact:
Buy Green Cleaners: Anything with aerosol is out and you’ll also be sure that what you use to clean your house won’t leech in to the city’s water supply. This is a simple switch that really makes a difference.
Bike to Work: Or walk, if you can! It’s great exercise (and we all eat too much here in Texas) and you’ll be doing the earth a favor by reducing your carbon emissions.
Stop Smoking: Another double duty solution, your smoke is causing harm to the environment but even more to your own body. If you stop smoking now you can greatly reduce your risk of cigarette related death and also give the environment a fighting chance.
We applaud you for considering your impact on the environment and would love to hear your suggestions in the comments section!

Radon is a harmful gas that humans cannot detect through sight, smell, touch, or taste, which makes it all too easy for residents in a home with high levels of radon to breathe the contaminated air. The risks associated with inhaling air with high levels of radon gas make it especially important to test your home.

It has been estimated that radon gas is the second leading cause of lung cancers in the U.S. The number of lung cancer deaths per year attributed to radon gas contamination is about 21,000. It is second only to smoking.

Radon gas does is not exclusive to a particular area, so the possibility of contamination cannot be eliminated simply due to geographical location. This radioactive gas can enter the home through any number of structural gaps or cracks.

The potential health risks are far more costly than testing, prevention, and repair. Some cities and states actually dispense the short-term testing kits, some of which require on minutes of your time to ensure the safety of all of the residents in your home. Long-term kits are also available to obtain a better sense of the day to day average radon gas levels over the course of a longer period of time.

Lowering air pollution and carbon footprint are big deals, and it is not always the easiest thing to do… or is it? Some cities and some states are a lot worse then others. The more populated cities and states such as New York, California, San Diego, Philadelphia, Miami, and even New Jersey get a lot of bad air pollution, and there is a lot you can do to reduce it.
One way is to plant more trees, planting more trees and even bushes will let the air pretty much recycle, in the act of photosynthesis. One huge way to reduce carbon footprint is by making everything more energy efficient. Updating your common house hold appliances that consume a decent amount of energy — Dishwasher, fridge, washer, drier, heaters, and air conditioners. The old ones from 10 years ago are nothing like the new ones in this day and age.
Another way to reduce air pollution is by carpooling, riding the bus, walking, riding bikes, even taking a train somewhere. The less cars on the streets the less fumes and air pollutants are roaming in the air and making it dirty and more polluted then it needs to be. By turning down your thermostat by one degree centigrade could save a typical home about about 71 dollars a year. It may not seem like much, but over time it accumulates and grows, and makes a huge difference in the amount of carbon footprint around.
A 5th way to reduce air pollution is by not spraying toxins, such as hairspray and pesticides. You can easily go to the local store and by a nontoxic version, for most likely close to the same price, and that alone will significantly reduce the amount of air pollutants in the air. Doing these 5 actions will help the world anywhere you are, no matter how big or small the amount you do them.

Helping the environment is so important today. What many people do not know is that you can take several small steps to do your part to reduce, reuse and recycle. Grocery bags used to be made out of paper and later out of plastic. Now there are many reusable grocery bags and using them can help to reduce air pollution.

I know many people will ask: How do reusable grocery bags reduce air pollution? So, here is the answer. Plastic bags are being used more and more because they are less expensive for retailers. This means that the plastic bags are also more profitable because of that cost. However, the process used to make a plastic bag is not free of air pollution.

The plastic has to be melted at high temperatures and reformed into these plastic bags. The by-product of this plastic melt down results in air pollution. A paper bag comes from trees and cutting those down also leads to air pollution. So, what do you do to reduce air pollution?

Simple, you use a reusable grocery bag because reusable grocery bags reduce air pollution. Many people will think this answer is much too simple. However, the fact is that it does help to reduce air pollution.Still bored?
